Spare Parts Catalogue

Inter-Informatics Information systems department prepared a spare parts catalogue for Škoda transportation. An existing catalogue in a form of desktop application distributed on CDs was replaced by a WEB application. The customer has all data under control. The client alone manages access rights to the data and they completely eliminated a repeated distribution of updated catalogue versions. Another catalogue is being made for the new locomotive 109E for ČD now. We are planning to append the spare parts catalogue for other customers and other railway vehicles and customers of ŠT products - of course always with diversified approach (each customer sees only their own vehicles in their configurations). The catalogue enables full localization not only of a customer’s GUI but also of designations, specifications and metadata of individual spare parts.

I-I Information System Department ensured development and implementation of the software solution (server application accessible to users by internet), I-I Engineering Services Department contributed by data adjustment for the Catalogue = by transforming design drawings into service ones with service bill of material. The application is implemented in .NET technology and uses Microsoft SQL Server as data storage. An important benefit for the customer is that central accessing, spare parts catalogue publishing and its updating are not done in printed form (in the past) or on CDs (up to now) any more but directly via the internet.
